Georgswerder Energy Hill

Power station – Hamburg, Germany

Architects: HÄFNER/JIMÉNEZ and Konermann Siegmund Architekten

From toxic waste dump to sustainable energy hill

The Georgswerder Energy Hill has become a popular landmark with guided tours for local residents and visitors. The railing of the 900-metre long footpath has been constructed with more than 1,000 perforated sheets manufactured by RMIG, making it secure for the many visitors. When the footpath is lit up at night, the powder coating on the perforated sheets contributes to the glowing white ring on the energy hill that is visible all over Hamburg.
